Last weekend, my fabulous cousins invited me to visit them in Portland. It was lovely and low key and easy. We walked all over the city, ate amazing food (I discovered that I LOVE sushi), visited the coast and got to see one of the most adorable preschool programs I’ve ever seen.
The last day I was there, I got to shoot something a bit out of the box for me when it comes to a family session. I am SO happy that the amazing Ransoms and the good folks at Bushel and Peck Bakeshop (the main good folk being my cousin Amanda. Seriously, if you’re in Portland, GO there) were willing to take a little photography leap with me.
Honestly, I was nervous going into it. Even though I love the in-between moments I shoot of my kids and at events and wedding receptions, I’d never really shot an entire session that was this…unplanned.
I’m kind of ridiculously happy with the results (prepare for picture overload).
And now to find a bakeshop and family this cute in my hometown to take the same kind of leap!!

P.S. Even though I DID give them the color versions of these, I might be slightly obsessed with the black and white conversions of these shots. Slightly.
