What happens when an almost eleven year old girl invites ten of her friends to a sledding party for her birthday, and two days before the Big Day the snow that was on the ground starts to melt?

She starts to pray. Just a little bit for snow.

And that just a little bit of almost eleven year old praying for snow…turned into a lot of snow. A lot.

Like, an official snow day on her actual birthday, a lot. And around here, that never happens. Not in the last 20 years has it happened.

The sledding party was a success.

After two hours in perfect powder, there was a pile of soggy clothes by our door and ten giggly girls in the living room sipping hot chocolate.

Being eleven is cool.

That is soooo awesome. Great shots.
So glad she got to enjoy her party! I love these pictures…actually I just love your photography in general
How FUN! Happy Birthday to her! Sounds like it was one to remember!
Being from Syracuse, born the day after Christmas not only guaranteed some snow, by a full fledged white out! This is great idea for a party. So glad it all worked out!
I love that she prayed for snow and got even more than she could have hoped for. And wow, that’s a lot of snow! We’re still waiting for snow around here.
I’m telling you those kids need to be careful what they pray for! LOL. How fun!
WOW! Loved this entire series! Such beautiful images and you captured her so beautifully! How fun!
Wow, and she even had a sledding party? She has SOME luck, that daughter of yours.
I remember meeting her as a wee babe. Was that really 11 years ago? Sheesh.
So glad she got her snow in time for the party! Happy late birthday to her! Love the snow-covered hat shots.
Great captures and looks like an amazing fun day!
I agree with all the comments. The next day our 11 year old showed me the snow hill. It’s perfect.
